About Kirkroyds Preschool
“ Staff's excellent enthusiasm makes learning highly enjoyable."

At Kirkroyds pre-school, each child is valued as an individual and our very well qualified and highly experienced Key Persons plan activities based on the interests and needs of the children attending  our setting. Our effective Key person system welcomes and actively encourages parental involvement. This then enables  staff get to know the children very well and build on  their existing skills and abilities. Key staff then track each child’s progress and development in their individual record of achievement book.

At Kirkroyds Pre-school we encourage independence, turn-taking and sharing through all our activities and resources. Our well planned outdoor area supports children’s growing physical abilities and our experienced Early Language Practitioners (ELP’s) use their skills to underpin children’s early language and enhance their communication skills. The three prime areas, Personal , Social and Emotional, Communication and Language and Physical Development are identified as ‘crucial areas’ for school readiness.

Kirkroyds Pre-school has very good links with the local infant schools through regular liaison and network meetings. This ensures a smooth transition when children move onto infant school.

As a registered charity Kirkroyds Pre-school is run as a community group by a committee of parents and staff. We welcome and encourage voluntary involvement.

“We have had a wonderful experience at pre-school (both my child and I) My child enjoys herself and I feel confident leaving her knowing that she will be happy. I would strongly recommend it and will definitely be putting my younger daughter on the waiting list – thank you” Parent

“I like playing in the cafe, drawing and painting and doing maths. Playing outside because I like the pirate ship and the climbing wall.” Child aged 4.

All my children have had a great start and experience at Kirkroyds Pre-school and I can’t praise it highly enoughParent

When asked if there was anything he didn't like at Pre-school one child replied "No - I just like everything!"
